NFL free agency 2014: Nolan Carroll to visit Buffalo Bills, per report

Carroll is an experienced cornerback that fits the ideal profile of a Bills defensive back: big and physical.

Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com is reporting that free agent cornerback Nolan Carroll will be making a free agent visit with the Buffalo Bills.

Carroll, 27, has spent his entire four-year career with the Miami Dolphins as a 2010 fifth-round pick out of Maryland. At 6'1" and 205 pounds, he fits the prototype of what the Bills look for at the position: big and physical. He is also coming off a career-best season in Miami, where he recorded 47 tackles, three interceptions and two sacks during the 2013 season.

The Bills have their starting cornerback spots settled with Stephon Gilmore and Leodis McKelvin, but a player like Carroll would add more size and depth to a position that sorely needs it, and he'd provided competition at the nickel spot with second-year pro Nickell Robey (5'7"), as well.

Here's hoping that the Green Cove Springs, Florida native isn't put off by a bit of snow.
