NFL Draft 2014: Cyrus Kouandjio makes pre-draft visit with Buffalo Bills

Kouandjio becomes the third early-round tackle to visit the Bills this spring, joining Jake Matthews and Zack Martin on the list.

Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

In a Friday morning radio appearance on WGR 550's The Howard Simon Show, Buffalo Bills GM Doug Whaley confirmed that Alabama offensive tackle Cyrus Kouandjio is in Orchard Park today for a pre-draft visit with the team.

Despite a lackluster workout at the NFL Combine in February and, worse, a report that stated several NFL teams were worried about arthritis from a failed surgery on his knee, Kouandjio's draft stock has rebounded nicely, to the point where he still may end up a first-round pick. Concerns about the knee issue linger, but Dr. James Andrews refuted those reports, and Kouandjio had an improved workout at his pro day. Still, teams will likely be paying close attention to the physical portion of his pre-draft visits.

On the field, the 6'7", 322-pound Kouandjio is an effective pass and run blocker with elite size for the position, and he could conceivably walk right into Buffalo's starting lineup at right tackle. He is the third early-round tackle prospect to visit the Bills this spring, joining Jake Matthews of Texas A&M and Zack Martin of Notre Dame.

The Bills have now confirmed 29 pre-draft visitors so far this spring; they are allowed a maximum of 30. Here's the full list, which we're also keeping track of in this StoryStream.
