Seantrel Henderson injured in first Bills training camp practice

Cordy Glenn was already sidelined with a medical issue. Then, Seantrel Henderson was injured in the first hour of his first NFL training camp practice. Chris Hairston, the third-team left tackle, is now running with the starters.

Less than an hour into their first training camp practice of the 2014 season, the Buffalo Bills were down to their third-team left tackle running with the starting offense.

Seantrel Henderson, already in the lineup for starter Cordy Glenn, left practice early on Sunday evening, with reporters on the scene indicating that trainers were checking out the rookie's hip. Henderson did not return for the remainder of the session. He was replaced by fourth-year pro Chris Hairston in the starting lineup.

Glenn, of course, is sidelined with a medical issue that landed him on the Active/Non-Football Illness list last week. Bills head coach Doug Marrone would not comment on the nature of the condition this evening, leaving whether or not we learn anything more about the situation up to Glenn.

We'll hopefully know more about the seriousness of Henderson's injury soon. In the meantime, let's enjoy the fact that Hairston, and not some undrafted rookie or street free agent, is the third-team left tackle this season. (Please stay healthy, Mr. Hairston.)

Meanwhile, on the other side of the line of scrimmage, veteran Erik Pears ran with the first-team offense at right tackle, with rookie second-round pick Cyrus Kouandjio handling second-team duties. Kouandjio is expected to land that starting job eventually, but for now, the Bills are making the rookie earn it.
