Buffalo Rumblings Live: Kiko Alonso injury analysis with Dr. Ali Mohamadi

Dr. Ali Mohamadi joined Buffalo Rumblings Live on Thursday to discuss the long-term implications of Kiko Alonso's ACL injury. Plus, we discuss who might replace Alonso in the lineup.

Buffalo Bills linebacker Kiko Alonso tore his ACL earlier this week while working out in Oregon. Today, SB Nation medical expert Dr. Ali Mohamadi will join Buffalo Rumblings Live to discuss the injury, Alonso's forthcoming rehab from it, and the long-term implications of this type of injury. As time permits, we'll take fan questions for Dr. Mohamadi, and we'll stick around for some more Bills-centric talk, with the plan to run for about 30 minutes.

Dr. Mohamadi grew up in DC during the Redskins' glory days of the Fun Bunch, the Hogs, and Joe Gibbs. He earned his undergraduate degree at Yale before earning his medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine. Ali then completed his residency and chief residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, followed by his subspecialty fellowship in Endocrinology at Johns Hopkins. Upon completing his training, he moved back to DC to start his career as a physician.

In 2007, he was awarded a Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society Research Fellowship Award for his studies on growth hormone. He also was selected as a finalist for the Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine Clinical Research Award in 2007 and was the winner of an Endocrine Society Research Award in 2008. More recently, Ali was selected as one of "America's Top Physicians" by the Consumer Research Council of America in 2009 and 2010. He has been working with SB Nation, helping to break down major pro sports injuries, since 2011.
