It won't count in the standings, but after eight long months, who cares? The Buffalo Bills and the New York Giants are squaring off in tonight's Hall of Fame Game, the annual NFL preseason opener that takes place at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

Because it's the first preseason game of the 2014 league year, and because it occurs the day after the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony, the game will be televised nationally tonight on NBC, with the Sunday Night Football crew calling the contest. Here are the essentials you need to know if you're planning on catching the game this evening.
