The Buffalo Bills passing offense has not typically produced starting-caliber fantasy players in the past decade or so, but that may be changing thanks to rookie wide receiver Sammy Watkins. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft had his first huge game as a pro in Sunday's 29-10 win over Miami, hauling in eight receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.
As the Bills prepare for their Week 3 showdown with the San Diego Chargers this weekend, Watkins has emerged as the clear go-to target in Buffalo's passing offense. He has played more snaps and seen the highest percentage of targets of any receiver on the team by a country mile to this point, but most tellingly, he also has seen the highest percentage of targets per snap played.
You can bet that the Chargers are keenly aware of the prominence of Watkins in Buffalo's passing offense, and are doing what they can to force EJ Manuel to target players a bit further down this list when the two teams take the field on Sunday afternoon in Orchard Park.
