Bills vs. Texans, 2014 NFL Week 4: first half live chat

One of the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans - both 2-1 - will emerge as the surprise team in the AFC at the quarter-season mark after they square off today. We're talking about that game right here.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

After the first three weeks of the 2014 NFL regular season, both the Buffalo Bills and the Houston Texans are 2-1. Barring a rare tie, one of these two games - both of which picked in the Top 10 of the 2014 NFL Draft - will be 3-1, and billed as the "surprise" team in the AFC at the quarter-season mark this coming week.

In fact, both teams were 2-0 this time last week, but convene in Houston having lost in Week 3. For the Bills, it was a 22-10 home loss to San Diego, while the Texans were blown out by the Giants in New Jersey, 30-17.

Today's game is also a homecoming of sorts for two key players: Bills defensive end Mario Williams, who is making his second trip to Houston as a Bill after leaving the Texans via free agency in 2012; and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who is only a bit more than a year removed from holding that title in Buffalo, and who is now the starter for first-year head coach Bill O'Brien.

This is your open thread for the first half of today's Bills versus Texans bout. Enjoy yourselves, and GO BILLS!
