Fantasy Football, 2015 NFL Week 6: on the mend

Injuries continue to plague the Buffalo Bills, leading to some questionable decisions for fantasy owners this weekend.

Kevin Hoffman-USA TODAY Sports

Heading into Week 6 of the 2015 NFL regular season, the Buffalo Bills' 53-man roster looks like something out of a M.A.S.H. unit. Ten players were limited participants in practice during the week, including six starters on offense, while three others did not participate in at least one practice. Fantasy owners will need to pay special attention to pre-game updates prior to the Bills' 1PM start against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday before setting their lineups.

Will EJ have a shot?

Tyrod Taylor has not yet been ruled out for Sunday, but early signs pointed to EJ Manuel starting against Cincinnati. Taylor was limited this week by a knee injury, though he did take some reps with the first-team offense. Rex Ryan did note after Thursday's practice that Manuel received the majority of the first team reps, adding further confusion and speculation regarding Sunday's starter. If Taylor was my normal fantasy starter, I would look at potential free agents to plug-and-play in my lineup for this weekend.

Help en route

All signs point to LeSean McCoy and Sammy Watkins playing for the Bills on Sunday. If McCoy is able to play, he should be locked into starting lineups against a defense that surrendered 169 rushing yards to Thomas Rawls last week. The Bills need a healthy McCoy to provide some balance on offense that could not come from Boom Herron and Boobie Dixon last week. A healthy McCoy could see a full workload, especially with Karlos Williams still expected to be out with a concussion. Watkins is more of a question mark than McCoy, as his fantasy production has been limited to date; he should have a greater impact on Sunday's game by drawing the defense away from others. Consider Watkins a 'flex' play at best, or maybe even wait a week to see how he responds from his hamstring injury.

With so many question marks for the Bills this week, it is difficult to make any kind of fantasy projection heading into Sunday. At this point, McCoy and tight end Charles Clay are your only locked-in starters against the Bengals, along with the defense/starting teams unit. Check into Buffalo Rumblings on Sunday morning for the latest injury updates before setting your rosters for Week 6.
