BROP IT LIKE IT'S HOT
The most important decision once Marrone left, was for the Pegula's to keep Whaley and Brandon.
The process in finding Rex Ryan was astute and swift. Greg Roman has made it to a Superbowl. Thurman is Rex's defensive buddy. Ryan and Thurman lost a lot of games in recent times, so the pressure will be on to prove his powers of coaching from the get-go.
All the same, we are still getting to know the new owners and Rex Ryan, but we have faith that Greg Roman will bring the offense up to playoff quality. This is where Roman and I will have to work very hard together to make the Bills contenders.
My BROP and the front office at One Bills Drive can show enough continuity and upgrades to propel the Bills in 2015.

FREE AGENTS TO KEEP IN 2015
JERRY HUGHES - $9mil FOR 3 years $27mil. Worth it, earned it. Keeping the front four is paramount. The Beatles. Legion of Boom.
JAIRUS WYNN - $1.2mil FOR 2 YEARS $2.4mil. A really good baller week in, week out. Solid player, who ill get a reliable quota of snaps.
MARCUS EASLEY- $1.1mil FOR 3 YEARS $3.3mil - The epitome of a pro-bowl special teamer. Flying tackles, anything to help the Bills win.
CHRIS HOGAN- $1.3mil FOR 2 $2.6mil - Great squad and slot player. Helped Easley on ST. A great re-signee
JORDAN GAY- $550,000 FOR 1 year. Kick off specialist with great statistics in 2014. Saving Dan Carpenter for field goals and pats only.
LARRY DEAN - $750,000 FOR 2 years $1.5mil - Rated higher than Sylvester. Ty Powell back to fitness helps our LB/ST depth also. Dean looks keen to impress.
FREE AGENTS LET GO/RELEASED FROM CONTRACT
BRANDON SPIKES - ADIOS TO THE ONE AND ONLY BRANDON SPIKES. HE CAME, HE HELPED A LOT, FOREVER RESPECTED. HE'LL WANT TO PLAY VERSUS THE BILLS IN 2015, IF HE DEPARTS. Kiko Alonso comes back in 2015, Preston Brown and Nigel Bradham continue to dominate, Stephone Anthony helps alleviate losing Spikes.
CJ SPILLER - NOT TO JUDGE THE GUY, HE HAS BEEN A PROFESSIONAL. BUT, TOO MANY BUTS. HE WILL DO DAMAGE FOR ANOTHER TEAM NO DOUBT, ASKING FOR $5-7 MILLION IS UNREALISTIC in Buffalo
CHRIS WILLIAMS - Back issues, no track record. A head scratching signing by Marrone. Cyril Richardson, Laken Tomlinson, Richie Incognito and Orlando Franklin take over.
SCOTT CHANDLER - Charles Clay is the best option at TE for mine. Chandler had a good run, but TE is not our strong card. Heuerman at draft helps, once Lee Smith also leaves.
JEFF TUEL - PRACTICE SQUAD QB3-4. Respect Jeff Tuel for his services, but he will be on the outer from here on in.
DaNORRIS SEARCY - Too pricey for the $3-4mil Searcy demands, Gipson replaces him
- CHRIS HAIRSTON - No flies on Hairston, a good squad player. Not given enough snaps and injury prone, even if only on practice field. Barksdale, Seantrel , Cyrus and Cordy keep him out.
- KRAIG URBIK - Orlando Franklin and Richie Incognito(signed 1 year only) come in to release Urbik and his overpriced salary. Cyril Richardson and Laken Tomlinson much better prospects going forward in 2015 and beyond
- MARCUS THIGPEN - Did very well as the kick returner for the Bills in 2014. Goodwin and McKelvin will take over in 2015. Even Sammy Watkins as a kick returner too?
LEE SMITH - Good blocking tight end, but that is it. We got this more than covered
- STEVENSON SYLVESTER- Ty Powell and Larry Dean are preferred on ST.
- ERIK PEARS - Gave it his all, but playtime is over. Quality across the board required to make the playoffs
- CORBIN BRYANT - Unlucky to miss out, but Damon Harrison was needed and Stefan Charles is a better DLineman, so Bryant departs
FREE AGENTS signed for 2015
RB - MARK INGRAM - $4 MILLION FOR 2 YEARS. $8mil. You want ground and pound? Then Ingram is the man. He is no top tier pro-bowl RB, but if he has a good OLine, then Ingram's 10 to 20 touches a week would count tenfold toward the Bills making the knockout stage. Ingram fought for every yard on a very losing Saints team in 2014, and although he has had injury concerns, he will be the Chris Ivory type RB that Rex loves. Once he rips a few 1st downs and then we give the ball to Fred Jackson for a couple more, we will be on the front foot all season.
TE - CHARLES CLAY $5.5 MILLION FOR 3 $16.5mil What an all round athlete. Clay will really help Roman's liking of a decent TE, and Clay's departure will really dampen our division rivals a lot.
OG/OT - ORLANDO FRANKLIN - $5 MILLION FOR 4 YEARS $20mil Just looked after Peyton for 2 years and was a great bodyguard. Sign him for the long haul. A heavy hitter and a huge reach for the Bills, but Franklin at OG, to play opposite Incognito in 2015, is the lock down.
OT - JOE BARKSDALE $3.3 MILLION FOR 3 YEARS $9.9mil. This position lacks depth and experience, so time to sign a tough, mid 20 year old tackle, who is on the rise. Seantrel shows potential, but last years form is not enough to warrant starting again at RT in 2015
S - TAUSHAUN GIPSON - $2.4 MILLION FOR 3 YEARS $7.2mil. To replace the overpriced, inconsistent Searcy, Gipson shines in 2015
DL - DAMON HARRISON - $3 FOR 3 $9mil WILL STOP THE RUN, BIG DEAL OF A PLAYER. Rex and Dennis like Damon a lot. Kenrick Ellis would be the next on the hitlist.
**If unable to sign Jerry Hughes, then Jabaal Sheard, Derrick Morgan or even a cheaper Greg Hardy could be bought in to replace him**
2- OG - LAKEN TOMLINSON - Powerhouse rookie ready to move bodies. Incognito is only signed for 1 year!
3- QB - NICK FOLES TRADE - Chip Kelly wants Marcus Mariota, no bones about it. The Bills will offer a lot for Foles, but not too much. Our third pick this year and a 5th in 2016. Worth it, Foles superseeds Manuel.
5- ILB - STEPHONE ANTHONY - Good prospect, plays inside, which cement our LB core in case of injuries. Helps fill a gap made by Spikes too.
5- QB - BRANDON BRIDGE - Has potential and will be a more interesting QB3 than Tuel going forwards. May even pass Manuel..
6- TE - JEFF HEUERMAN - Great all round utility TE, a nice squad addition here
7 - FB/RB - TYLER VARGA - Great Senior Bowl. Gym buff. High upside. Frank Summers' modern day replacement
Please note Offense was a definite focus this draft/BROP, not by accident. We know offense needs major upgrades

BUFFALO HAD $31 MILLION CAP SPACE.
$15 MILLION ADDED IN CUTS TO URBIK, CHANDLER, RIVERS AND CHRIS WILLIAMS etc
EQUALS $46 MILLION TO SPEND.
JERRY HUGHES IS NIGH ON $9 MILLION.
DRAFTEES ARE $3 MILLION
RE-SIGNEES TOTAL $5 FOR HOGAN, EASLEY, DEAN, WYNN AND JORDAN GAY
ACQUIRING CLAY, FRANKLIN, INGRAM, DAMON HARRISON, JOE BARKSDALE AND GIPSON TOTALS CIRCA just under $23.5million
That leaves plus $5.5 million and with the NFL set to rise the salary cap by $2-$3 million more, The Bills put their mark on toppling the Pats, or at least making the playoffs 2015.
Buffalo hasn't had a Superbowl QB since Jim Kelly, but Nick Foles is the best we got to go get in 2015. EJ Manuel looks timid and off. I have played in sports teams and I know when I am a weak link. Until EJ learns to adjust, he will stay a back-up with upside potential.
At Rb, Ingram is replacing Spiller, Fred remains, Bryce to be given a shot. Boobie knows how to play too.
WR- Watkins, Woods and Hogan stay the main 3 WR's, but Marquise Goodwin has that speed we want to see more of.
TE- Clay boosts past Chandler's spot to become the Bills utility TE. Chandler had 3 horrible drops last year. He also had 3 penalties called up at CRUCIAL times. Clay helps us win more games. Heuerman the rookie added in to bolster the depth chart.
The OLine is upgraded beyond belief. Barksdale, Franklin, Tomlinson and Incognito, wow!
The DLine stays same. Money is saved aside for Dareus' big pay rise in 2016. Damon Harrison really does take out the trash.
The LB core is solid and maybe even A grade. Stephone Anthony will help the defense evolve further, if Spikes leaves, then he will be called in for quite a few snaps.
The DB's lose Searcy, but gain Gipson for 3 years, $9 mil.
Special teams stays Top 5 in league! Re-signing Easley and Hogan helps.
May I say in conclusion that Clive Walford or a RB was too much a reach, and rookie TE's are rarely ready to start in the NFL.
QB is the same. Rex Ryan is going to want to win now. I thought about rookie RB's Jay Ajayi, Tevin Coleman and TJ Yeldon, but settled on Ingram from FA. We will win with Foles at QB...
Nick Foles is the biggest call of this BROP. He has now started many NFL games. Foles won a lot of games. He played under Chip Kelly with LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin and Darren Sproles, so I don't think he gets shook easily. Bradford's knee ruled him out for me, although he would be my plan b.
The Bills adjust to the new coaches and players after a few weeks and finish the season 10-6, making the playoffs. This is a team for now, and the future. We keep our 2016 best picks, and we re-assess after Rex Ryan's first over-achieving season in Buffalo. Buffalo becomes relevant financially, marketing wise and on the gridiron again.
