At halftime in their preseason finale, the Buffalo Bills are tied with the Detroit Lions at Ford Field, 10-10. Ron Brooks returned a deflected interception for the opening score of the game, and after the Lions rattled off 10 straight points, Dan Carpenter kicked a field goal to tie the game up with less than a minute remaining in the half.
These were my notes from the first half of the game:
- Andre Davis offside on opening kickoff
- Davis makes great catch on tipped pass
- Muffed snap on 4th & 2 - Kraig Urbik or Matt Simms?
- A.J. Tarpley blows up a pitch on 3rd & short
- Mario Butler illegally covers long snapper, giving DET first down
- NZI on Stefan Charles; - 3rd & 10 becomes 3rd & 5
- Great hit by Merrill Noel to cause Brooks pick-six
- Ugly DPI on Brooks on next series
- Great open-field tackle by Bacarri Rambo
- Bad deep ball tracking by Davis with space (ball under thrown)
- Simms takes a huge hit, converts 3rd & 8 to Marcus Thigpen
- Iffy holding call on Nick O'Leary
- Second muffed snap (lost) - Urbik snapped without the ball
- Alex Carrington, Stefan Charles, Andre Fluellen having their way with DET backup OL
- Butler burned badly on 65-yard slant TD
- Darryl Johnson beaten badly to give up a sack
- Nice catch in traffic by Dezmin Lewis to convert third down
- Quentin Groves dinged after making massive KR hit
- Tarpley blows up a screen
The last half of 2015 Bills preseason football? It's happening now. We're almost done, folks. Go Bills.
