Keep adding to the body count. Lorenzo Alexander, the NFL’s sack leader and Buffalo Bills’s own Benjamin Button, left the game against the New England Patriots in the second quarter with an apparent leg injury.
Alexander will not return. CBS cameras picked up on him stretching his hamstring area on a training table. Prior to stretching, Alexander was seen pointing to his glute and his hamstring on his left leg. Reports have come in of him moving on the sideline but he isn’t back on the field.
Losing Alexander is a large blow both to the defensive and special teams units, as he has been a tremendous contributor to both. It was expected that Alexander would serve as an important piece of Buffalo’s special teams corps; however, his surprise rise as a pass rushing monster has helped propel the Bills’ return to the top of the league’s sack charts.
Rookie Shaq lawson has seen his playing time skyrocket in the interim.
