Bills standout receiver Sammy Watkins, fresh off a three catch, 80-yard performance against the Jaguars in his first action since Week 2, missed practice today with the same foot injury that shelved him for over two months.
Sammy Watkins went from limited to did not participate. Had soreness in foot, trainers pulled him out. #Bills

It sounds like the team intended to run him at a limited pace, which is what he did in practice all of last week before playing in 25 of 55 offensive snaps against Jacksonville. The complaint of soreness, though, was enough to pull the plug on anything for today.
There was talk of increasing his playing time in Oakland this Sunday, which is one of the most important games on the remaining schedule. There was a definite flair to the offense that was missing when Sammy was out, especially in the second half after he was able to shake off some rust.
One missed practice isn’t the end of the world. When it comes to Watkins’ foot, caution is going to win the day. If he misses practice tomorrow, it might be time to hit the panic button, but for now it’s just something to keep an eye on.
