AFC playoff picture, Week 10: Buffalo Bills need a win to keep pace

The Bills need a MNF victory just to keep pace with the red hot AFC West teams.

The Buffalo Bills didn’t have much help to get on Sunday as several teams in the ballpark of Buffalo’s record played one another. It was nowhere more apparent than on Sunday Night Football when both the Oakland Raiders and Denver Broncos remain above Buffalo in the AFC playoff picture.

Standings

1. New England Patriots (7-1)
2. Oakland Raiders (7-2)
3. Houston Texans (5-3)
4. Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
5. Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)
6. Denver Broncos (6-3)
-------------------------------------------
7. Miami Dolphins (4-4, head-to-head over BUF & PIT)
8. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-4, loss to MIA, 3-3 in AFC)
9. Buffalo Bills (4-4, loss to MIA, 1-4 in AFC)
10. Indianapolis Colts (4-5, head-to-head over TEN & SD)
11. San Diego Chargers (4-5, lost to IND, beat TEN)
12. Tennessee Titans (4-5, lost to IND & SD)
13. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4-1)
14. New York Jets (3-6)
15. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6)
16. Cleveland Browns (0-9)

With a Bills win

With a win tonight on Monday Night Football, Buffalo would jump ahead of Miami and Pittsburgh for the seventh spot at 5-4. They could still lose ground to both teams over the bye, though.

With a Bills loss

With a loss, the Bills would enter the scrum at 4-5. With Buffalo’s 1-4 conference record, they would be below all of those teams and fall to 12th in the AFC. Cincinnati would have the opportunity to pass Buffalo during the bye, as well.
