AFC Playoff picture: Buffalo Bills fall to 12th with MNF loss

The Bills fell pretty far after their third straight loss, but it isn’t over.

It isn’t over. Not by a long shot, Buffalo Bills fans. While the Bills have lost their third straight to fall in the standings, they still control their own destiny against a list of sub-.500 teams. Here is your playoff picture rundown.

Standings

1. New England Patriots (7-1)
2. Oakland Raiders (7-2)
3. Houston Texans (5-3)
4. Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
5. Kansas City Chiefs (6-2)
6. Denver Broncos (6-3)
-------------------------------------------
7. Miami Dolphins (4-4, head-to-head over BUF & PIT)
8. Pittsburgh Steelers (4-4, loss to MIA)
9. Indianapolis Colts (4-5, head-to-head over TEN & SD)
10. San Diego Chargers (4-5, lost to IND, beat TEN)
11. Tennessee Titans (4-5, lost to IND & SD, 3-4 in AFC)
12. Buffalo Bills (4-5, 1-4 in AFC)
13. Cincinnati Bengals (3-4-1)
14. New York Jets (3-6)
15. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6)
16. Cleveland Browns (0-9)

With Buffalo’s 1-4 conference record, they are below all the teams in the scrum at 4-5. Cincinnati has the opportunity to pass Buffalo during the bye, as well, so Buffalo could fall all the way to 13th by the time they play again.

But, it’s not over. Buffalo’s remaining schedule features just one team currently with a winning record; the 7-2 Oakland Raiders. Buffalo will need to run the table to ensure a playoff spot, but even a 6-1 record down the stretch could get it done with the AFC West teams yet to beat up each other down.
