Buffalo Bills 2017 schedule: AFC West, NFC South coming soon

Looking ahead to 2017, the Bills will get what looks like a bear of a schedule.

The Buffalo Bills 2016 season is over, at least as far as the postseason is concerned. With their loss on Sunday to the Dolphins, the Bills weren’t just eliminated from the playoffs, they were locked into the number three spot in the AFC East. With that, we can start to look at their 2017 opponents.

In the rotations, it’s time for the AFC East to play the AFC West and the NFC South. Buffalo will host the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders and visit the San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills will travel to the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers and welcome the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to New Era Field.

As for the third-place teams Buffalo will be facing, the Bills will be going to Cincinnati for a game against the Bengals, who have clinched third place in the AFC North. Their final game is still somewhat in the air. If the Tennessee Titans lose and Indianapolis Colts win in the final week of the season, the Bills will host the Titans. If the Tennessee wins or the Colts lose, Indianapolis will come to town as the third-place team in the South.

Of note, the Bills won’t be playing the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. They have faced off in 15 times in 20 years since the Jaguars came into the NFL including four of the last five seasons. The season will also see the return of the Kansas City Chiefs, who Buffalo played for eight straight years prior to 2016.
