Buffalo Bills take Alabama CB Marlon Humphrey in latest SB Nation mock draft

Humphrey is the latest highly-touted cornerback for the Crimson Tide.

College Football Bowl season is about to begin, which means the traditional NCAA coverage is about to be replaced by NFL Draft talk. With the Bills on the cusp of playoff elimination, it’s our sworn duty to start informing you on the topic, in anticipation of months of speculation.

SB Nation’s draft writer Dan Kadar published a brand new mock draft to start the week, hypothesizing what might happen if the quarterbacks available in the draft aren’t very highly regarded. With the Bills slated to pick 13th, he has them addressing the defensive side of the ball by picking the first cornerback:

13. Buffalo Bills - Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama

The parade of Alabama players continues. There might be five stellar cornerbacks in next year’s draft, and Humphrey is arguably the best. Just a redshirt sophomore, Humphrey has already proved himself to be a shutdown cornerback who can beat receivers in man coverage.

A strong cover cornerback would be welcomed, especially if the Bills let Stephon Gilmore walk in free agency. Still, it’s hard to argue against a quarterback like Deshaun Watson or DeShone Kizer if they’re still on the board, or wide receiver Corey Davis, who was picked 14th.

What do you think of the pick, Bills fans?
