2016 NFL Draft: Top 100 draft prospects, pre-Combine

With the NFL draft talk now in full swing, you may be finding yourself panicking at your local water cooler, trying to make sense of the dozens of new names you're supposed to know about before they join the NFL. No sweat, here at Buffalo Rumblings, we did the research for you.

I began compiling this list in September, and it represents the roughly 115 prospects whom I've viewed and written up, pared down to the 100 best options. My methodology: I watch at least three games of each prospect using Draft Breakdown (or other sources when available) and my No Huddle Remote for slowmo/rewind, and write roughly two to eight paragraphs of notes and thoughts about the player when I'm done. If you read the daily scouting reports last year, that's essentially the style I worked with.

All of my thoughts are compiled into a single, massive spreadsheet where I've collected the roughly 350 players that I'm tracking this year. While the spreadsheet will eventually be released to you all at the end of the draft season, here's a sneak peek:

The main thing lacking from this top 100 ranking is the height-weight and athletic information. Certain players appear to be small, large, fast, or slow on tape. When the Combine drills and pro days are run through, I can look at the outliers and re-assess what I thought. Sometimes a particular drill or measurement will highlight a diamond in the rough.
