With contract negotiations involving Richie Incognito apparently at a standstill, the Buffalo Bills are currently hosting guard Jahri Evans, formerly of the New Orleans Saints. Evans, a four-time first team All-Pro selection, was released by the Saints last month after refusing to renegotiate his contract.
Evans tweeted that he was in the area early Monday afternoon, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport made it clear that this was more than a vacation:
Because Evans was cut by the Saints, he can visit (and sign) with the Bills prior to the official start of free agency on Wednesday. The visit by Evans will add fuel to the speculation that a deal between the Bills and Incognito is not close, and that Buffalo is considering alternative options in free agency.
Evans is currently 32 years old, and has played in New Orleans during his entire career. In addition to his four selections to the All-Pro first team, Evans has been named to the Pro Bowl six times - most recently in 2014.
