2016 NFL mock draft: Jack Conklin to Los Angeles Rams

The Detroit Lions, and general manager Dana H, are on the clock!

With the fifteenth pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the Los Angeles Rams, and general manager BuffaloBillygoat, have selected Jack Conklin, offensive tackle from Michigan State. Here's what he had to say about the pick:

We tried to trade up for Goff--no dice. We tried to trade up for Hargreaves-- no cigar. So, we hoped for Mac Alexander to fall into our lap, but alas... that's how the cookie crumbles.

Many have the Rams taking Lynch or Treadwell here, and I can see why: our passing offense is truly terrible. However, I just don't see a first-round pick or a franchise QB when I look at Lynch, and both Treadwell and Doctson fit at the X receiver, leaving Kenny Britt (a productive player considering the numbers the Rams put up) without a true home. I've got other plans there.

I agree with Dan in thinking Conklin is the BPA, and the Rams could really use help there, as Greg Robinson has been pretty terrible. I will be bringing in a franchise QB as soon as possible, and want Conklin there when I do. Some think he won't be able to handle NFL edge speed, but I don't see it. What I did see was Conklin bouncing DeForest Buckner around like a beach ball at Coachella. He's gritty, a class act, and an immediate starter at either tackle spot. He's probably a better fit on the right immediately, but in the Rams run heavy offense, I'll be starting him at LT and letting him take his lumps this year. Sure, my fans will boo that they're not getting a sexy quarterback, but my fans don't like me anyhow right now. Whoever IS the quarterback after Case Keenum will be glad to have this guy in front of him.

Oh, and we still have 2 2nd round picks!

The Detroit Lions are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
