2016 NFL mock draft: Jarran Reed to Atlanta Falcons

The Indianapolis Colts, and general manager Blown Coverage, are on the clock!

With the seventeenth pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the Atlanta Falcons, and general manager KyleCop, have selected Jarran Reed, defensive tackle from Alabama. Here's what he had to say about the pick:

Dan Quinn and this GM have realized just how bad this team is. The team went 8-8 with four wins against the lowly NFC East and three wins against the dreadful AFC South. The 2015 schedule couldn't have been more of a cupcake. Dan Quinn and KyleCop have decided that Matt Ryan is not the answer.

Stuck with only five draft picks, trading the QB to a contender could easily yield pieces to improve the defense and this pick could be used to select the future QB.

However, they don't have the permission of owner Arthur Blank to trade the QB.

With the draft room torn, KyleCop ultimately goes with a premier run stuffer in Alabama DT Jarran Reed. The mammoth 307 pound defensive tackle is the piece needed to stop the Carolina Panthers run based offense and fend off of any pressure from the Buccaneers.

Reed provides the strength and size to clog up the interior and his experience playing for a winner will only push this defense to the next level. Pairing Reed with 2014's 2nd round pick Ra'Shede Hageman will give the Falcons the presence to stop the inside run and ultimately allow their offense with Julio Jones to get back on the field.

The Indianapolis Colts are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
