2016 NFL mock draft: Andrew Billings to Washington Redskins

New, comments

The New York Jets, and general manager ismileback13, are on the clock!

With the twenty-third pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the Washington Redskins, and general manager JV bills, have selected Andrew Billings, defensive tackle from Baylor. Here's what he had to say about the pick:

Billings was our target all along, but there are a lot of guys still left on the board that drew interest and fit the Redskin's needs. Eli Apple, William Jackson, Karl Joseph, A'Shawn Robinson, Chris Jones, Ryan Kelly... A second trade back was definitely an option, but everyone seems content to wait their turn at this point.

Regardless, I was very happy that Billings made it to 23. Having lost Terrence Knighton to that team that forfeited it's first round pick, there is a hole on the interior of the defensive line. Billings is a guy who does much more than just take up blockers. He finds the ball and makes plays all day. And he has the size, athleticism, and motor to keep doing the same things at the NFL level.

He might not be in Dan's top 5, but personally, I like him better as a prospect than Kenny Clark. Our friends at Hogs Haven also love Billings, so he had to be the pick.

The New York Jets are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
