2016 NFL Mock Draft: Eli Apple to Chiefs

The Arizona Cardinals, and general manager Jeff Hunter, are on the clock!

With pick No. 28 in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs, and general manager cush2push, have selected Eli Apple, cornerback from Ohio State. Here's what he had to say about the pick:

Going into this draft there were three immediate needs for the Chiefs:
Offensive Tackle - the former top overall pick Eric Fisher has been underwhelming and possibly won't be with the Chiefs in 2017.
Cornerback  - with Sean Smith departing to Oakland via free agency there's a need for a corner.
Defensive Line - The Chiefs recently re-signed both of their defensive ends to two year extensions. Dontari Poe is a UFA after the season and the Chiefs could use some insurance.

The run of Tackles and the depth of the Dline prospects left me going with a corner to fill in for Smith opposite Marcus Peters
Eli has great size & speed and mirrors wide receivers well. He has the athletic ability to turn and run with receivers. Decent in run support, and willing to come up and set the edge.

The Arizona Cardinals are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
