With the third pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the San Diego Chargers (represented by Hornell Fred) have selected Jalen Ramsey, defensive back from Florida State. Here's what he had to say about the pick:
The Chargers have a lot of needs and they are looking at Jalen Ramsey as the obvious pick. There have been reports that the Chargers would like to play Myles Jack at safety/linebacker depending on the defensive formation. DeForest Buckner also fills a big need on the defensive line; those are the three I had to pick from.
I like Jack a lot and think he is the best "football player" in this draft. The question with Ramsey is whether he is a shutdown corner in the NFL (don't think so) or a jack of all trades hybrid safety/slot corner. Is a safety that hasn't shown a great ability to tackle worth the number 3 pick? Do you take a chance and go with Myles Jack? Or pick Bunker? Three good players, all fill needs and all have questions.
It really is a good spot for the Chargers to trade out of, move down a few spots and pick Myles Jack and gain a couple extra picks to fix other needs. In the end it came down to the best athlete available: The Chargers pick Jalen Ramsey.
The Dallas Cowboys are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
