2016 NFL mock draft: Shaq Lawson to the Minnesota Vikings

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and general manager OntheRise, are on the clock!

With the eighth pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the Minnesota Vikings (represented by stevemason) have selected Shaq Lawson, defensive end from Clemson. Here's what he had to say about the pick:

Everywhere you go you hear scouts talking about the depth of depth of the defensive line in this draft class, and to a point they're correct. With that said, to me Shaq Lawson is on another level. I was shocked, when I first popped his tape in back in late December, that he wasn't rated higher.

Of course as time went on people started to see the game things I saw, which has elevated his stock quite a bit. I think he's got everything you look for in an elite pass rusher: athleticism, hustle, moves, and the numbers to back it all up. He's a future star in my opinion; 10+ sacks a year type.

The Vikings don't have any huge needs, and while defensive end doesn't need to be filled this offseason, they say you never can have enough pass rushers. So that's it, I found a reasonable trade partner and went up and got someone I fell in love with early in the draft process. Welcome to the Twin Cities, Shaq!
