2016 NFL mock draft: Ronnie Stanley to the Buccaneers

The New York Giants, and general manager Mr. Marbles, are on the clock!

With the ninth pick in the 2016 Buffalo Rumblings Community Mock, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and general manager OntheRise, have selected Ronnie Stanley, offensive tackle from Notre Dame. Here's what he had to say about the pick:

The Buccaneers ranked number 23 on PFF for their defensive line in 2015 and have lost Logan Mankins, their best lineman to retirement. JR Sweezy has been bought in to start at LG for Mankins. The Buccaneers need a long term plan for Jameis Winston's protection. Donovan Smith got better at LT as the season ended and Ali Marpet will continue to start at RG. Demar Dotson and Gosder Cherilus are serviceable RT's, but not the long term answer.

This pick is inspired by the Titans getting Laremy Tunsil to bookend with Taylor Lewan, to protect their QB Marcus Mariota. I have been a fan of Stanley's for a while now and he may start at LT and move Smith to RT. Stanley has had a great college career and has the potential qualities to be very solid long term, acquisition at T for the Bucs, even Pro-Bowl level.
Once grabbing Ronnie Stanley in the first, the Bucs turn their attention to CB, S, DL, C & OLB in the reminder of their picks.

The New York Giants are now on the clock. Remember, when it's your turn to submit a draft choice, email it to dan.r.lavoie+sbnation@gmail.com.
