Marcell Dareus is always good for a quote and in the wake of Tom Brady’s appeal being denied in federal court, he had comments about not seeing the future Hall of Fame quarterback in the first meeting of the year between the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills.
“I can’t wait to play (the Patriots.) I hate that Brady’s not going to be there,” said Dareus in an appearance on NFL Total Access. “But when he comes back… it’s on.”
"If we win, all right, we win,” Dareus said when asked about playing the Patriots without Brady. “But I don't feel like I really won until I beat the guy. I love playing against Brady. I get up for him. I play against him every year, and he knows I'm coming. So for him not to be up there tears me up a little bit. But the second time I see him, I'm going to be excited to play against him."
Dareus is 1-8 against the Brady-led Patriots in his career. The old adage goes “to be the best, you have to beat the best.” Dareus will get his chance October 30th in the second match-up of the season.
