Buffalo Bills not interested in Nick Foles, per report

EJ Manuel is the backup QB, folks.

Despite an earlier report from a national Bleacher Report writer, the Buffalo Bills are not interested in quarterback Nick Foles. Foles was released by the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday.

Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News cited a source close to the organization saying the Bills “don't have interest in signing free-agent quarterback Nick Foles.” That should put to rest the idea of the team adding the quarterback.

General Manager Doug Whaley has made it a point to publicly back the number 2 quarterback, EJ Manuel, the entire offseason (and beyond). Rookie Cardale Jones is expected to be the third-string quarterback and Tyrod Taylor is still the unquestioned starter heading into training camp which begins later this week.

"At this time, if you look at him, and if you look at, I'll let you guys do some research on the backups that played and started in this league, [Manuel] is in the top third and maybe quarter of those guys,” said Whaley earlier this offseason.

Foles will land somewhere, but it won’t be in Buffalo.
