Kroy Biermann scouting report

We got the low down on Buffalo’s new outside linebacker from The Falcoholic.

We know new Bills edge-rusher Kroy Biermann has an awesome name, and some of you aware that he’s appeared on a reality show, but how is he on the field?

I reached out to Dave Choate, the EIC of SB Nation’s Atlanta Falcons blog, The Falcoholic, and asked for a Biermann scouting report. Here it is:

“Kroy Biermann was a surprisingly divisive player in Atlanta. A fifth round pick in 2008, Biermann put up 23.5 sacks over eight seasons with the Falcons, serving as a valuable reserve and sometimes starter who excelled on special teams. Due to his reality show and his obvious limitations as a full-time starter, Biermann became a punching bag as one of the obvious examples of a Falcons team that too often prized versatility and a can-do attitude over pure talent.

For a quality Buffalo defense that will let him be a part-time player, though, Biermann is a terrific signing. He's a solid run defender, occasionally useful pass rusher, and genuinely terrific special teamer who plays hard. You'll come to like him just fine, and I expect he'll excel so long as he's not pressed into starting duty.”
