UPDATE (10:35 AM, 8/18):
Adam Benigni of WGRZ received confirmation from the NFL on the Manny Lawson situation. Things are getting weirder:
NFL says investigation is not focused on 2014 Scottsdale domestic charge/dismissal involving #Bills Lawson. This is different incident.— Adam Benigni (@AdamBenigni) August 18, 2016
Despite all that confirmation... there’s still plenty of vagueness here..
We’ll continue to closely monitor this (odd) situation.
UPDATE (11:42 pm, 8/17):
One of our sources says this DV arrest is not why Manny Lawson is facing a suspension. https://t.co/IfDxT9h941— Tim Graham (@ByTimGraham) August 18, 2016
The previously murky situation regarding Buffalo Bills linebacker Manny Lawson has some more clarity.
Tim Graham of The Buffalo News sent out these tweets tonight.
Public records show Manny Lawson was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence on 2/17/2014 in Scottsdale, AZ. Story to come.— Tim Graham (@ByTimGraham) August 18, 2016
Records show charges were dismissed by the city attorney on 11/17/2014, perhaps after completion of a program.— Tim Graham (@ByTimGraham) August 18, 2016
Additional records show Manny Lawson entered a plea deal end entered into a diversion program.— Tim Graham (@ByTimGraham) August 18, 2016
At this point, we don't know anything about a possible suspension for Lawson, but per Graham’s investigative reporting, the Bills linebacker was indeed arrested for a “disorderly conduct / domestic violence.”
We’ll provide an update when Graham does or any if other information becomes available.
