Karlos Williams’ weight still an issue at Buffalo Bills camp

Reportedly, the second-year running back has yet to slim down.

Karlos Williams reported to Buffalo Bills minicamp 20 pounds overweight, and Chris Brown from BuffaloBills.com notes, “his weight problem has not improved a whole lot at the outset of camp.”

Williams blamed his fiancee’s pregnancy cravings during his offseason with the reason for his weight gain. (The couple welcomed a child just before minicamp began.) He has been working for more than a month to bring his weight in check, but that doesn’t appear to be working. He has been working with the training staff during practice sessions to this point.

We speculated at the time that Williams could have to worry about his job security, even after scoring a bunch of touchdowns in his rookie season a year ago. Adding to that uncertainty, the Bills signed veteran Reggie Bush this week and Williams was suspended for the first four games of the 2016 season for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy.

The Bills’ website did note that Kyle Williams spent time counseling the young runner early this week at camp.

Can Williams turn it around in time to even make the roster, let alone compete for a big role on the team?
