Bills-Ravens inactives: Well, at least one rookie draft pick makes an appearance today

New, comments

Here are your inactives for today’s game.

The Buffalo Bills and the Baltimore Ravens have announced their inactives for today’s game. Here are the players who won’t make an appearance on the field for Buffalo:

S | Colt Anderson | Foot

The safety and special teamer injured his foot in the final preseason game, and he hasn’t practiced since.

CB | Kevon Seymour | Hamstring

Seymour was officially listed as a “DNP” every day leading up to this game, despite appearing in uniform on the practice field. The Bills coaches were cautious about working Seymour back onto the field, knowing that if he stayed out of today’s game he’d be ready to return on the short turnaround for Thursday night’s Jets matchup.

QB | Cardale Jones | Shoulder

Still feeling some nagging effects from his preseason shoulder soreness, Jones didn’t practice at the tail end of the week. As a third string quarterback, he was already a long shot to be activated today.

RB | Jonathan Williams | Ribs

Although Williams was a full participant in practice this week, he’s out of the picture today. Like Seymour, it appears that the Bills may be giving him some extra time to heal before Thursday. It helps that the team already has three other options available on the depth chart ahead of Williams.

OLB | Bryson Albright | Healthy scratch

The undrafted rookie will start the season on the sidelines, as the team chose to only activate three pass rushers and the veteran Lerentee McCray claims priority.

WR | Walter Powell | Healthy scratch

The newly-signed street free agent Brandon Tate was brought in as kick returner insurance, and he appears to have usurped Powell’s role in that department, at least for this week.

OC | Patrick Lewis | Healthy scratch

The recently-extended backup center will be sidelined today, leaving the Bills with only Ryan Groy as an available interior reserve. This one’s a bit of a surprise, given that Groy is more of a true guard than a center.

Finally, here are the Ravens inactives:
