Report: Bills work out TE Rory ‘Busta’ Anderson

New, comments

Buffalo is clearly looking to add another tight end or H-back to the roster.

Yes, you read that correctly... the Buffalo Bills worked out a tight end who went by “Busta” in college. Fantastic.

At 6’5” and 244 pounds, Anderson is slightly taller than your prototypical H-back, but at his weight, he has the ability to challenge linebackers with impressive speed down the seam.

In four seasons at South Carolina, Anderson accumulated 61 receptions, 954 yards (15.6 yards per) and nine touchdowns. He has decently long 32 1/4” arms but small 8 3/4” hands.

NFL.com’s draft analyst Lance Zierlein compared Anderson to Ladarius Green as a prospect, writing: “Anderson's athleticism and play speed is what NFL teams dream of when looking for tight ends to threaten vertically and create matchup problems underneath. While he needs to add more weight to his frame, Anderson shows the blocking fundamentals to be considered a legitimate combination tight end in the NFL. Anderson's biggest concern on draft day and beyond looks like it could be his recurring triceps injuries.”

Anderson was a Round 7 pick by the 49ers in 2015 and made it to the final round of cuts but was unexpectedly placed on IR.
