The Buffalo Bills 2016 season is mercifully over. With the Bills finishing in the number three spot in the AFC East, we can start to look at their 2017 opponents.
In the rotations, it’s time for the AFC East to play the AFC West and the NFC South. Buffalo will host the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders and visit the San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills will travel to the Atlanta Falcons and Carolina Panthers and welcome the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers to New Era Field.
As for the third-place teams Buffalo will be facing, the Bills will be going to Cincinnati for a game against the Bengals, the third place team in the AFC North. Their final opponent was determined in the final week of the season. The Tennessee Titans won on Sunday, meaning they are second in the AFC South and the Indianapolis Colts are third. Andrew Luck will bring the Colts to Buffalo during 2017.
Of note, the Bills won’t be playing the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016. They have faced off in 15 times in 20 years since the Jaguars came into the NFL including four of the last five seasons. The season will also see the return of the Kansas City Chiefs, who Buffalo played for eight straight years prior to 2016.
Buffalo could be facing two or more teams with new head coaches. The Jaguars have already fired Gus Bradley while Denver’s Gary Kubiak is mulling retirement. The Jets and Saints could also have new men leading their team this offseason
