Rick Dennison makes it more likely Buffalo Bills keep Tyrod Taylor

With a new offensive coordinator in the mix, could Tyrod Taylor be staying with the Bills?

In an interview on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Ian Rapoport spoke on the future of Tyrod Taylor. Rapoport thinks the hiring of offensive coordinator Rick Dennison means the Buffalo Bills might not be in the market for a new starting quarterback after all.

“This is pretty good news because he was the quarterbacks coach in Baltimore when Tyrod Taylor was the backup to Joe Flacco,” said Rapoport. “So there’s a lot of familiarity here. It would make no sense if the Bills hired Rick Dennison, and then got rid of Tyrod Taylor... one of the reasons he signed there. So do not be surprised if Taylor is back.”

Rapoport’s comments are pretty strong and run counter to the plethora of speculation from other media members over the past month. Dennison’s offense features a myriad of play-action bootlegs and moving pockets, ideal for a quarterback with mobility. Here’s our full evaluation of Dennison’s system.
