Buffalo Bills receiver Jordan Matthews questionable to return with thumb injury

Bills number one WR has a thumb injury

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Atlanta Falcons Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The Buffalo Bills drove down the field taking up more than 11 minutes of clock and extended their lead to seven points. However, the drive was costly, taking out the teams number one wide receiver as Jordan Matthews headed to the locker room.

Matthews came off the field after the drive and was immediately tended to by trainers and headed into the locker room. It was announced that Matthews had a right thumb injury and it was pretty gruesome to look at. You’ll have to click through the link to see it.

Matthews made his presence felt earlier in the game, scoring a go-ahead touchdown in the first half. If Matthews is unable to return to this game, the Bills will be forced to rely on Zay Jones and Andre Holmes. Charles Clay and LeSean McCoy have played big roles in this game, as well.

The running game found its groove in the last possession and will have seven minutes to drive down the field for a game-winning score.
