Cincinnati Bengals’ A.J. Green dominates Week 5 fantasy football against Buffalo Bills

The star wide receiver was excellent on Sunday

NFL: Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals Aaron Doster-USA TODAY Sports

A.J. Green was incredible on Sunday for the Cincinnati Bengals, shredding the Buffalo Bills to the tune of 189 yards and touchdown on 7 catches. His 26.4 fantasy points was by far the most allowed by the Bills to an individual this season, and it was good for the 7th-highest score of Week 5. How did the rest of teammates fare in fantasy football scoring last week?

QB Andy Dalton

If the Bills had been able to slow down Green, then maybe they could have kept Dalton in check, too. Green accounted for 58% of Dalton’s 328 passing yards, and his touchdown reception was the only one Dalton threw on the day. Dalton’s 15.32 points were the most scored against the Bills’ defense this season, and they even managed to pick him off twice when Green was unable to handle a wet football. This day could have been far worse for Buffalo had a few breaks not gone their way.

RB Joe Mixon

While I predicted that Giovani Bernard would lead the way against the Bills, it was Mixon who did the most damage. None of Cincinnati’s backs did much damage, as they only ran for 71 yards on 26 carries over the course of the day; however, Mixon did manage to find the end zone late in the game, giving himself an 11.1 point day. For his part, Bernard had 2 rushing yards to go with 2 receptions and 30 yards as a receiver.

Bengals D/ST

Cincinnati sacked Tyrod Taylor 6 times and intercepted him once, so it was a banner day for the orange and black. They held the Bills in check all afternoon, only allowing a touchdown on a brilliantly thrown ball from Taylor to Brandon Tate in the second quarter. The Bengals are second in yards allowed per game, and it showed on Sunday.

K Randy Bullock

The kicker’s duel that I anticipated didn’t quite materialize, but that didn’t stop both kickers from having strong fantasy days. Bullock made two extra points and two field goals on the day for a total of 8 points.
