In the first half of their game on Sunday, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston was forced to exit the game with a right shoulder injury. Former Buffalo Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick took over for Winston and almost led the Bucs to victory.
However, this injury could have implications for the Bills, who play Winston and the Bucs on Sunday in Orchard Park. After their loss on Sunday, Winston seemed to put to bed any doubts of his status moving forward.
When asked if he has ever missed time for an injury before, the Bucs QB responded by saying
“I have came out [of a game] before but I don’t think I’ve missed a game,” Winston said. “I don’t think I’m going to miss a game either.”
An MRI confirmed an AC joint sprain in his throwing shoulder, according to Ian Rapoport. It's an injury that can be played through depending on the severity.
Even on the off chance Winston is sidelined, Fitzpatrick will still have elite wide receivers like Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson to throw the ball to. No matter who starts, the Bills secondary is in for another tough task this week.
