It’s always interesting to see what the bye week does to the Buffalo Bills in the national power rankings. While it’s usually never anything good, it’s always a good time to reset expectations, and the bye gives the power rankers a good opportunity to do that.

Let’s see where the Bills stand as they prepare to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (and possibly quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick) this coming Sunday.

SI.com moved the Bills up two spots to 17

Yahoo's Shutdown Corner dropped the Bills a spot to 17
“The next four games: vs. Tampa Bay, vs. Oakland, at N.Y. Jets, vs. New Orleans. None of those games seem too daunting. The Bills could make a nice statement over the next month if they play well.”

USA Today dropped the Bills one spot, but still has them at 9
"Luck plays huge part in any team's season. It may be smiling on Buffalo, which draws battered Jameis Winston, Derek Carr next two weeks."

Bleacher Report dropped the Bills two spots, landing them at 13
"Buffalo might not be a complete team, but it's a tough one that is going to give opponents headaches. Getting jumped by teams like the Texans and Saints while on bye shouldn't take away from the level of talent Buffalo has."

ESPN dropped the Bills two spots to 18
"Coming off a bye the Bills are now treated to back-to-back home games against the Buccaneers and Raiders. Those games probably looked tougher earlier in the season, but both teams are a combined 1-5 in October."
