Thursday Night Football live chat, Buffalo Bills implications

Are you rooting for help in the playoff race or a draft pick bump?

Matt Warren is Associate Director of NFL coverage for SB Nation and previously covered the Bills for Buffalo Rumblings for more than a decade.

The Kansas City Chiefs (5-1) and Oakland Raiders (2-4) square off tonight in an AFC West showdown and lots on the line for the Buffalo Bills in both the short and long terms.

Looking first at 2017, the Raiders have an uphill climb to get back into the playoff race after losing four of their first six games. With Derek Carr back healthy, they are looking to get a big divisional win. A loss here could doom their chances of making a playoff run (and help Buffalo in the process).

If you’re one of the folks who doesn’t care about the Bills making the playoffs and have an eye toward the future, Buffalo holds Kansas City’s first-round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft. If they lose, that draft pick gets better so you’re rooting for a Chiefs loss.

It’s also worth noting that Oakland will have an extra few days to prepare for their cross-country trip to Buffalo. They come in October 29th.

So, who are you rooting for tonight and what are you interested in?
