As Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quickly approaches, fortunately for the Buffalo Bills their squad is getting healthier, particularly in the secondary of their defense.
Cornerbacks E.J. Gaines and Leonard Johnson were were full participants at Thursday’s practice after both were limited the day before. Bills fans should be thrilled by Gaines’ status ahead of the Sunday’s game. Gaines, the team’s starter on the right side, has performed extremely well in his first season with the Bills. He missed the team’s Week 5 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson is also a significant contributor having played in every game thus far this season.
Wide receiver Jordan Matthews was the lone limited player on Thursday. While he’s regarded as day-to-day with his thumb injury, Matthew’s availability for Sunday appears to be in serious doubt. Head coach Sean McDermott said he would have liked to see his No. 1 wideout take more reps with the team this week.
Cordy Glenn, who was a full participant again on Thursday, is getting back to the point where he could start for the Bills, McDermott said, but the coach has yet to decide if that will be the case this week.
And unsurprisingly, both Charles Clay and Ramon Humber did not practice Thursday as they are still expected to be out for an extended period of time. Richie Incognito received a rest day.
