Just one day after linebacker Deon Lacey received his walking papers from One Bills Drive, the Buffalo Bills have reversed their course, re-signing the linebacker Thursday.
On Wednesday, Lacey was replaced by linebacker Tyrell Adams, who was waived by the Oakland Raiders. However today the team designated Adams as waived/injured. According to a report, Adams failed his physical, resulting in his release.
Since the team was down a linebacker, they went out and signed one with experience with the team. Lacey was primarily a contributor on special teams so far this season, but with the lack of depth at the LB spot, he still has the potential to see some snaps on the defensive side of the ball.
Regardless of how much he plays Sunday, this goes to show how strange the NFL can be. Going from employed, to looking for work only to be picked up by the same team again all in less than 24 hours. At least he didn’t miss a lot of game prep.
