The man to helm the offense for Buffalo’s next opponent has been decided. Speaking with reporters on Friday afternoon, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter announced that quarterback Jameis Winston would start when they play against the Buffalo Bills this weekend. Winston, who left the field in the second quarter of last week’s contest against the Arizona Cardinals, is dealing with a sprained AC joint in his shoulder.
Winston was replaced by Ryan Fitzpatrick, who brought the Buccaneers to the brink of a comeback which fell just short on Sunday. He took a very light throwing workload during the week, but ramped up to a regular level of practice on Friday. The Bills, not knowing which quarterback would play, spent the week gameplanning for both options. Fitzpatrick, of course, is a former Bills QB himself.
In five games this season, Winston is 99-of-164 passing (60.4 percent) for 1259 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions.
