Buffalo Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka tied an NFL record on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when he hit a 52-yard field goal. Hauschka is the fifth kicker in NFL history to make 12 consecutive kicks over 50 yards.
Hauschka joins Blair Walsh, Robbie Gould, Justin Tucker and Matt Prater in the exclusive club after booting through his latest long field goal. He had missed a 41-yarder earlier in the game but was true on the longer field goal attempt.
Buffalo replaced the embattled Dan Carpenter with Hauschka this offseason, signing him to a three-year, $8.85 million contract including a $3 million signing bonus. Carpenter was 1-of-2 beyond 50 in 2016 and 14-of-21 in his four years in Buffalo. Hauschka already has five for the Bills this year.
The last kick over 50 yards Hauschka missed was way back in 2014 when he was with the Seattle Seahawks. The next time he lines up for a 50-yarder, it will be for the outright record.
