Tre’Davious White, Matt Milano huge; Buffalo Bills week 7 rookie report

Most of the rookies showed out this week

The rookie class for the 2017 Buffalo Bills are becoming key contributors on a weekly basis. Some are still looking to come into their own and one got a career milestone out of the way early.

CB Tre’Davious White

The 2017 first-round pick continues to impress. White had trouble covering the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ elite wide receivers early in the game, but except for a fantastic touchdown catch from Mike Evans, White didn’t give up much on the day. White battled back after the touchdown and punched the ball out of a Bucs receiver's hands and then recovered it to give the Bills the ball back with a chance to win late in the game. All in all, he made the plays when he had to.

WR Zay Jones

Oh Zay. Maybe next week is the game he puts it all together. Jones was targeted more than any other receiver on the roster, but only came down with two catches for 17 yards. Jones added another drop to bring his 2017 total to four. (I know, it seems like more.) However, if you watched him in college, you know he has the ability and will show it. It just better happen soon.

OL Dion Dawkins

Dawkins didn’t play many snaps on Sunday. But the snaps he did play he made count. When OL Richie Incognito went down for a few plays, McDermott put in Dawkins over OL Ryan Groy for one play specifically to pull to the left side of the field and open it up for LeSean McCoy. The hole Dawkins opened up resulted in a 3rd down conversion and a 20+ yard gain.

LB Matt Milano

The rookie out of Boston College played a clean game. Milano was good enough in coverage to snag his first career interception and notched another pass defensed. Milano also totaled 5 tackles, two of which were behind the line, and a quarterback hit.
