On Wednesday, Buffalo Bills tight end Logan Thomas missed practice for personal reasons. Head coach Sean McDermott didn’t provide an update and didn’t know when Thomas would be at practice. On Thursday night, after returning to practice that day, Thomas announced on Twitter than his daughter had been born prematurely and passed away Tuesday night.

Please pray for our family during this trying time. For our innocent boys to be able to process this hurt, for my husband returning to work.

Based on other posts in his Twitter feed, Thomas’ wife was just over halfway through her pregnancy. They announced the gender of the baby earlier this month in a separate Twitter post. That ultrasound test happens at week 18-20 of the pregnancy. They announced the due date as April 2018.
Thomas and his wife have four sons. His wife, Brandie, and the boys spent the entire month of training camp in the Rochester area to stay together as a family while she was pregnant and attended most of the team’s practices.
The quarterback-turned-tight end scored his first NFL touchdown on Sunday and has played a key role for the Bills this season as starter Charles Clay has been out with a knee injury.
Our thoughts and condolences are with the Thomas family at this very difficult time.
