Turnovers will be key to Buffalo Bills beating the New Orleans Saints

Not creating them, but preventing them

Ten days after their disappointing showing on Thursday Night Football against the New York Jets, the Buffalo Bills have an opportunity to redeem themselves at New Era Field against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints started out the season 0-2, but are now on six-game winning streak. How can the Bills put an end to that streak?

The Bills will beat the Saints if they hold onto the ball

Even after their three-turnover outing against the Jets, the Bills are still in first in the NFL in turnover margin at +11. The Saints are tied for 10th at +3, but they have been more effective at converting those turnovers into points.

The Bills have had 12 drives started from turnovers that did not lead to kneel downs. They have turned those 12 drives into just six field goals and a single touchdown. The Saints only have seven drives that qualify, but they have turned them into four touchdowns. Also, the Saints have caused a turnover in all six of their victories; in their two losses, they have not causes a single turnover. Preventing turnovers is always a key to victory, but it is essential against the opportunistic Saints.
