Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott gave injury updates on three starters Monday, labeling them all as “day to day.” Cordy Glenn and EJ Gaines both missed the game against the New Orleans Saints with preexisting injuries and Jerry Hughes was a new addition on the injury front. Zay Jones missed Sunday’s game due to an ankle injury sustained against the New York Jets, but there were no updates on his status from McDermott.
Hughes injured his shin in the first half of Sunday’s game. He did not return to the lineup. The exact nature of the injury has not been disclosed.
Glenn continues to battle ankle and foot injuries and has missed four games this season. Glenn has not been practicing and there is no timetable for his return.
Gaines did not return to the lineup yesterday as was expected. He has now missed three games following a hamstring injury and has missed time in several more due to other shorter term ailments.
In addition to these injuries, Charles Clay and Seantrel Henderson returned to the lineup this weekend. With recent knee and back injuries respectively, their health should continue to be monitored this week with crossed fingers. The fact that McDermott didn’t mention any setbacks can be taken as a good sign.
