Buffalo Bills-Los Angeles Chargers first half open thread

It’s Petermania, baby!

The Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Chargers are set to begin at 4 o’clock Eastern today and the Nathan Peterman Era is upon us. The rookie, drafted in the fifth round out of Pittsburgh, looks to do what no quarterback since Rob Johnson Doug Flutie* has done for the Bills: Win enough games to qualify for the NFL Playoffs.

Of course, it’s going to take much more than a strong performance from Buffalo’s new quarterback to drive the Bills to a win today. After allowing an average of 246 yards per game on the ground over the last two weeks, the defense will have to do a much better job containing Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler. The offensive line, missing starting left tackle yet again this week, will need to keep Peterman upright while opening holes for LeSean McCoy.

As Bills’ fans, hope is what keeps us coming back. Here’s to hoping that Peterman’s debut is the spark that ignites a deep run into the playoffs. Chat away in the comments below, and go Bills!
