Buffalo Bills kicker Stephen Hauschka now holds the NFL record for consecutive successful field goal attempts over 50 yards. On Sunday, he knocked through his 13th straight made attempt.
Hauschka connected on a 50-yard attempt in the third quarter to break the record, previously held in a tie with Blair Walsh, Robbie Gould, Justin Tucker and Matt Prater. He also tied a Bills team record for most 50-yard field goal in the season (six), which he now shares with his predecessor, Dan Carpenter, who set the record in 2014.
Buffalo replaced the embattled Carpenter this offseason, signing Hauschka to a three-year, $8.85 million contract including a $3 million signing bonus. Carpenter was 1-of-2 beyond 50 in 2016 and 14-of-21 in his four years in Buffalo. Hauschka already has six for the Bills this year.
The last kick over 50 yards Hauschka missed was way back in 2014 when he was with the Seattle Seahawks.
