When you travel for work, sometimes the unexpected can happen when you’re far from home. Buffalo Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes boarded the team flight for Los Angeles on Friday, but that wasn’t his only flight of the day. While he was in the air, his wife delivered their second child and Hughes hopped another flight to be with them.
Here is the caption:
With an eager spirit, Hayden Robinson Hughes entered this world on Nov 18th at 5:25pm weighing 8lbs 6oz and 20.5in long Came in for a check up and ended up delivering an hour later. God Bless my incredible husband who was on a plane from Buffalo to LA for a game during the time of delivery but was able to fly straight to us when he landed. We are so blessed and thankful for this beautiful baby girl! Oh, and did I mention this was an unplanned NATURAL birth #andthankfulforFaceTime #HughesPartyof4#nomoreinseasonbabies
Mrs. Hughes was scheduled to have her labor induced on Monday morning so both parents could be there but Hayden had other plans. This is the second child for the Hughes family, whose first son was born last February and Jerry got to wear a sweet “Hughes Your Daddy” t-shirt.
The Hughes family splits time between Houston and Orchard Park, and Meghan Hughes’ previous Instagram post was tagged in Houston so it’s likely Jerry got on a flight Friday in Buffalo, flew to Los Angeles, immediately flew to Houston, then got back on a plane over the weekend to be in L.A. to play the Chargers. That’s some serious dedication there.
Congratulations to Jerry and Meghan!
